1. General Policy and Non-Refundable Fees All tuition and administrative fees are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD). The basic administrative costs are included in the flat tuition fee. However, once an application is processed, a base administrative portion of $150.00 CAD is considered strictly non-refundable under all circumstances. This covers the administrative costs of transcript review, prerequisite verification, and the establishment or request of the Ontario Student Record (OSR).
2. Pre-Enrollment Phase (Cooling-Off Period) "Pre-Enrollment" is defined as the period after a student has paid tuition but before they have logged into the Learning Management System (LMS) at www.techstudy.ca to access course materials.
A student may request a full refund of the course tuition fee, minus the non-refundable $150.00 CAD administrative portion, if a written withdrawal request is submitted to the Administration Office within 48 hours of payment, provided course access has not been initiated.
3. Post-Enrollment Phase (Course Access Initiated) "Post-Enrollment" is defined as the moment a student logs into the LMS and accesses the proprietary course modules.
Due to the self-paced, asynchronous nature of our online curriculum, no tuition refunds will be granted post-enrollment. Once access is granted, the educational service is considered actively delivered, regardless of the student's subsequent pace of completion, lack of engagement, or decision to withdraw.
4. Study Permit Refusals for Visa Students (Pre-Enrollment Exception) For international or visa students who are denied a Study Permit by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) prior to arriving or commencing studies, a tuition refund, minus the $150.00 CAD administrative fee, will be granted. The student must submit a written refund request along with a copy of the original IRCC refusal letter within 30 days of the refusal date.
5. Post-Enrollment Academic Removals In accordance with Ministry of Education regulations, all students must possess the required academic prerequisites prior to beginning a credit-bearing course.
Failure to Meet Prerequisites: If a student enrolls and is subsequently removed by administration post-enrollment because they cannot provide valid proof of prerequisites (e.g., an official transcript or successful PLAR assessment), the tuition fee will be refunded, less a $50.00 CAD administrative processing fee.
Academic Integrity Violations: Am-Can Business & Tech Institute reserves the right to withdraw or expel a student post-enrollment without refund if the student violates the school's Code of Conduct. This strictly includes our Academic Honesty and Integrity policies, such as plagiarism, unauthorized use of AI generation tools, or identity misrepresentation during assessments.
6. Course Cancellation by the Institute In the highly unlikely event that Am-Can Business & Tech Institute must cancel a course or discontinue its availability post-enrollment before a student has completed their 110 instructional hours, a full refund of the tuition fee will be automatically issued to the original method of payment.
7. Tuition and Fee Disclaimer
Subject to Change: Am-Can Business & Tech Institute reserves the right to review and adjust tuition rates, administrative fees, and discount structures at any time without prior public notice.
Application to New Intakes: Any published changes to the fee schedule will take effect immediately and apply strictly to new pre-enrollment registrations.
Protection for Currently Enrolled Students: Fee changes will not retroactively affect post-enrollment students. If you have already registered, paid your tuition, and initiated your course access at www.techstudy.ca, your tuition rate for that specific course is locked in and will remain unchanged for the duration of your standard 12-month instructional window. If a currently enrolled student chooses to register for an additional course after a fee change has been implemented, the new tuition rate will apply to that new registration. All fee assessments, billing, and withdrawals are strictly governed by our official financial terms outlined in this Financial and Refund Policy.
No Legal Immigration Advice Provided: Am-Can Business & Tech Institute, including its administrative staff, admissions officers, and academic faculty, does not offer legal opinions, consulting, or advice regarding Canadian immigration, visas, or residency status. Any information provided regarding study programs or documentation requirements is for general educational pathways and institutional enrollment purposes only. For official, legally binding immigration guidance, please consult a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Study Permit Requirements for 100% Online Enrollment: Please note that enrolling in a 100% online, asynchronous program or course at Am-Can Business & Tech Institute does not require a Canadian Study Permit or temporary resident visa, provided you are completing your studies entirely from outside of Canada. Online instruction completed remotely from your home country does not constitute physical entry into Canada.
Consequently, the school does not issue Letters of Acceptance (LOAs) for the purpose of securing a Canadian Study Permit for our 100% online offerings. If an international student subsequently chooses to transition to an in-person delivery model, they will become subject to full IRCC compliance metrics and immigration regulations prior to arriving at our Vaughan campus.
