Am-Can Business & Tech School is an Ontario private secondary school in Vaughan. You take one Grade 9 to 12 credit at a time on a fixed six week schedule. Every course is delivered 100% online and asynchronously. Selected courses, currently all English, Mathematics and Computer Studies courses, also run in class at our Vaughan campus, where you work through the same online course under supervision. Whichever you choose, the course is the same, and once the school holds credit-granting authority the completed credit goes on your Ontario Student Transcript. There are no rigid class times, allowing you to complete your weekly learning modules on a schedule that works for you. However, learning is highly structured and teacher-mediated: every student participates in weekly online cohort forums and benefits from individual check-ins with their Ontario Certified Teacher, through the portal if you study online and in person at the campus if you study in class. The courses
Am-Can Business & Tech School has a registered course catalog of 26 secondary credits. For the initial 2026–2027 startup cycle, the school is delivering a primary cohort of 16 fully prepared courses, each a full 1.0 credit. Every course runs online in every session. Additional catalog courses will be phased in during subsequent sessions once their respective LMS modules are finalized. In class at the Vaughan campus you work through the same online course under supervision, and a selection of courses runs this way each session, currently all English, Mathematics and Computer Studies courses. You see which ones, with the seats remaining, while you enrol.

Short a Grade 12 course?
Every Grade 12 course runs online in every session. If you are missing one before an application deadline, start it on the next session date.
Who these courses are for
Students take a credit outside their day school for a handful of reasons. These are the ones that come up most.
You are missing a prerequisite
Your school is not running the Grade 12 chemistry or mathematics course you need this semester and a university program needs it. Take it in one six week session instead of waiting.
You need to raise a mark
A program has a cut off, or your top six average is short. Take the course again and earn a better mark.
You failed a course
Take the whole course again and have the credit in six weeks, rather than losing a year to it.
It will not fit your timetable
The course you need clashes with something else you need. This one runs outside your school day, so nothing has to be dropped.
You are lost in a class of thirty
One course, one Ontario Certified Teacher, a discussion question every week and individual contact with you every week. That is the part a full timetable cannot give you.
You want to lighten Grade 12
Clear a compulsory credit ahead of time so your final year has room in it for the courses that decide your offers.
You need your online learning credits
Students who started Grade 9 in 2020-21 or later need two online learning credits to graduate. Every credit earned here counts as one.
You are outside the school system
An adult finishing a diploma, a newcomer who missed a semester, or someone whose training or work does not fit a school timetable.

All sixteen courses run online in every session. In class, you work through the same online course under supervision at the Vaughan campus, and a selection of courses runs this way each session, currently all English, Mathematics and Computer Studies courses. You choose your format, and see what is running in class, while you enrol.
Online
The course is 100% online and asynchronous. You study from wherever you are. The portal holds your materials, your cohort forum, your assignments and your marks.
In person
You work through the same asynchronous online course at our Vaughan campus, supervised, on school computers, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Participation counts towards your grade in every course, and is measured by completion of the four published weekly milestones set out in our Attendance and Participation Policy, not by presence in a room. Campus attendance is a facility, not a requirement: studying from home on a given day is not recorded absent. Every student, in either format, chooses the examination route: online under proctoring with identity verification, or on site at the Vaughan campus under staff invigilation, by prior arrangement and at no additional charge.

What an Ontario Credit is Worth
It is a full 1.0 credit course of 110 scheduled hours, taught to the Ontario curriculum. Once the school holds credit-granting authority, completed credits are recorded on the Ontario Student Transcript in the same way as a credit from any other Ontario school. Am-Can Business & Tech School has applied to offer courses leading to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Upon successful completion of our upcoming initial Ministry of Education program inspection, all student credits earned during our launch cohorts will be formally granted and registered on the Ontario Student Transcript (OST).
- The Ontario Secondary School Diploma takes 30 credits, of which 17 or 18 are compulsory depending on the year you started Grade 9.
- Every credit earned here counts as an online learning credit, and students who started Grade 9 in 2020-21 or later need two of those to graduate.
- Once the school holds credit-granting authority, your completed credit is recorded on your Ontario Student Transcript. Once the Ministry issues the school's identifying number following inspection, Am-Can reports completed credits through the standard provincial process, which passes them to the universities and colleges you have applied to.
- Am-Can Business & Tech School has applied to offer courses leading to these credits for the 2026–2027 school year. Upon successful completion of our upcoming initial Ministry of Education inspection, all completed credits will be formally registered and reported through the standard provincial system.
What it costs
20% off tuition for students studying from within Canada, on the September and November 2026 sessions. The offer closes on the day your session begins.
One fee covers the whole course. The rates below are the regular rates.

Tuition covers registration, your Ontario Student Record, your transcript and online examination proctoring. The in person rate covers supervised campus access and the use of school computers.

Session 4 runs across seven calendar weeks because March Break falls inside it. It still delivers six study weeks and the full 110 hours. You take one course per session, six sessions a year, therefore a maximum of six credits a year at this school.
How to enrol
- Choose your course from the 26 above.
- Check the prerequisite. If you do not have it, tell us, because the Principal may waive a prerequisite in defined circumstances.
- Apply online.
- Pay your tuition, or claim a free place if one is still open in your grade and you are studying from within Canada.
What happens next
- We confirm your application, and the Principal checks the prerequisite against your Ontario Student Transcript.
- Your place is confirmed once tuition is paid, or once your free place is allocated.
- You receive your sign in details for the student portal.
- Before the session starts you receive your course outline, your syllabus, your session timetable, the minimum system requirements and an explanation of the four weekly milestones.
- On the first Monday of the session your unit materials open and your teacher posts the first discussion question.
Is there any other cost?
No. The tuition above is the whole cost of the course. Writing your examination on campus under invigilation instead of online costs nothing extra.
A small number of optional services carry their own fee, and you pay them only if you ask for them.

Why six weeks beats twelve months
Most Ontario online credit providers sell you twelve months and let you start any day. It sounds generous. In practice it is the most common way an online credit dies. No start date, no classmates, nobody waiting for your work, and a deadline far enough away that it never quite arrives.
Am-Can is built the other way. Your session begins on a published Monday and ends on a published Friday, six study weeks later. Every week has four things you have to finish and a teacher who notices when you do not finish them. Attendance and participation is worth 10 to 15 per cent of your final mark, so keeping up is part of the grade rather than a suggestion.
If you want a year to think about it, we are the wrong school. If you need the credit finished, this is what we are built for.

90 of the 110 hours are online. The other 20 are your own reading and study away from the screen, recorded in a weekly learning log, submitted weekly and reviewed by your teacher.
There are no set class times
Attendance here means finishing four things each week:
- Progress through the unit materials released for that week, recorded automatically by the portal.
- Post a response to the teacher's discussion question in the cohort forum for that week.
- Respond to classmates' posts in that same forum.
- Complete the assignment or evaluation set for that week.
A session schedules 24 milestones, four in each of six study weeks. Your final examination is written in study week 6, on a date inside that week scheduled and confirmed with you.
Where this school stands with the Ministry
Am-Can Business & Tech School is an Ontario private secondary school. We have filed our Notice of Intention with the Ontario Ministry of Education under number 119689. A Ministry inspection of our credit courses is scheduled for the 2026-2027 school year, and our BSID will be issued following that inspection.
