Build Your First Chatbot
Self-paced · About 12 hours · Final assessment within 2 weeks of unlocking · 100% online
Chatbots are one of the most popular uses of AI. In this level you use Python decisions, loops and text handling to build a rule-based chatbot, the same way the earliest chatbots worked, and you see exactly where rules end and AI begins.
What you will be able to do
- Use if, elif and else to make decisions in code
- Repeat tasks with for and while loops
- Work with text: clean it, search it and respond to it
- Store replies in lists and dictionaries
- Design, test and improve a conversation flow
Your learning path (suggested hours)
| Stage | Hours |
|---|---|
| Learn: short lessons and worked examples | 3 |
| Practise and debug: coding challenges with instant checks | 4 |
| Build: your level project | 3 |
| Assessment: preparation and final assessment | 2 |
| Total | 12 |
