Welcome to Am-Can Business & Tech Institute. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of our websites, amcantech.org, osscredit.ca, osscredit.com and the techstudy.ca e-Learning Management System (e-LMS), and all associated digital services and content (collectively, the "Platform").
By accessing or using the Platform, you (the student, parent/guardian, or staff member) agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.
These Terms of Use apply to all registered students, parents/guardians with access privileges, faculty, and administrative staff. By registering for an account and logging into the techstudy.ca portal, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these terms, as well as our Student Code of Conduct and Website Privacy Policy.
To access our OSSD credit courses, you will be provided with a unique user account and login credentials.
Confidentiality: You are strictly responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account information.
Account Sharing: Sharing your login credentials with anyone else is strictly prohibited and constitutes a violation of our Academic Integrity Policy.
Security Breaches: You must immediately notify the Am-Can Administration IT desk (info@amcantech.org) of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your login credentials.
All educational materials, digital content, and platform designs are the exclusive property of Am-Can Business & Tech Institute (owned and operated by AM-CAN BUSINESS & LMS SERVICES MANAGEMENT LTD.) or its licensors.
Permitted Use: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the course materials solely for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
Prohibited Use: You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform. This includes, but is not limited to, downloading course videos, sharing quizzes or exam questions on third-party websites, or selling course notes.
The techstudy.ca platform is an extension of the Am-Can Business & Tech Institute physical classroom. Users are expected to conduct themselves with the same level of respect and professionalism online as they would at our Vaughan campus. When using the Platform, you agree not to:
Upload, post, or transmit any material that is defamatory, offensive, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise violates the rights of others.
Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform or the servers hosting it.
Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts, grading systems, or administrative features.
Use the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local, provincial, or federal laws.
As a continuous intake, asynchronous learning provider, we strive to ensure the techstudy.ca platform is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
The Platform may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, system upgrades, or unforeseen technical difficulties.
Am-Can Business & Tech Institute will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance of any planned, extended downtime.
We are not liable for any delays in coursework submission resulting from system outages, though instructors will provide appropriate academic accommodations in the event of documented platform failure.
Am-Can Business & Tech Institute reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms of Use, the Student Code of Conduct, or the Academic Integrity Policy.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Am-Can Business & Tech Institute, its directors, employees, and instructors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform or any content provided therein.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Use at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the master policy page. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Platform shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
